MORRISON -- The Whiteside County Fair is getting ready for another five days of great entertainment this year, beginning the morning of Tuesday,
August 12th and running right through Saturday, August 16th finale. The 138th annual fair, held at the fairgrounds in Morrison, IL, will start and end
with a bang, with the crowd-pleasing demolition derbies remaining as the opening and closing evening grandstand events.
Tuesday, August 12th is the first demolition derby of the fair. Check www.whitesidecountyfair.org for the 2008 Demo Derby Rules
Wednesday, August 13th entertainment, you will see Pro-Bull Riding provided by Next Level Productions with the areas best bull rider competitors
putting on a great bull riding show for you.
Thursday, August 14th at 5:00 pm will be our 2nd year of Twilight Harness Racing at the Whiteside County Fair. This was such a big hit last year that
we are doing it again this year. Following this will be Draft Horse Hitches & Western Speed Events. This will be a great night to see harness racing,
the Beautiful Draft Horses, and the speed event horses.
Friday, August 15th we have five classes of souped-up tractors and trucks taking their turn pulling down the track. We will also have the lawn tractors
doing their pulls at the same time right in front of the grandstand.
Saturday, August 16th, the second demolition derby will finish off the fair’s five-day evening attractions. As always, the fair board strives to provide
something for everyone, young and old alike.
Wilson Family Rides will entertain the kids and adults again this year with their outstanding carnival and midway attractions, providing a festive and
fun time for everyone.

MORRISON – The Whiteside County Fair is getting ready for another fun filled five days of great entertainment. The Fair kicks of on Tuesday morning
August 12th and runs through the Saturday night August 16th grand finale. This is the 138th year the annual fair is being held at the fairgrounds in
Morrison, IL, and it will start and end with a bang. As always, the fair board provides something for everyone, young and old alike.
The evening grandstand entertainment begins Tuesday, August 12th at 7:00 with the action packed demolition derby. The entertainment continues
with Next-Level Pro-Bull riding on Wednesday, August 13th at 7:00. Traditional grandstand favorites return to finish out the week. Draft horse hitches
and speed events return on Thursday, August 14th at 7:00, and don’t miss the five classes of souped-up tractors and trucks that will take over the
grandstand on Friday, August 15th at 7:00. The fairs five days of entertainment will end with the crowd pleasing demolition derby Saturday night
August 16th at 7:00.
Daily free events include the Grandpa Crachet shows and two children’s bicycle giveaways daily. New this year, The Mississippi Valley Gymnastics
Academy Show Team and Mississippi Valley Athletic Training Center Cheerleading Team will perform on Tuesday, August 12th at 5:30 in the picnic
area of the fair grounds by the east entrance. The Children’s Pedal Pulls return again on Tuesday and Saturday at Noon with six divisions for
youngsters ages 4 through 12. Various Textile Demonstrations will be going on again this year through out the week. Check back for times later in
the paper or on the Whiteside County Fair website.
For those of you feeling lucky, the Harness racing returns with track records up for grabs. Twilight Harness Racing is back for the second year on
Thursday, August 14th at 5:00. Friday and Saturday’s Harness racing will start each day at 1:00. Or for those of you with a sweet tooth, chances will be
sold at a nominal cost to test entrants luck at winning a tasty treat in the “cake/pie walks” held Tuesday through Friday at 4:00 at the culinary
department in the large exhibition hall north of the secretary’s office.

MORRISON – Premium books for the 138th Annual Whiteside County Fair, which runs August 12th – 16th are now available at banks throughout the
county. Over $129,000 in premiums will be offered in prize money to the winners in over 1,500 different classes.
The fair premium book serves as a road map to the fair and all of the shows and events, along with providing the entry forms and processing
information necessary to enter the dozens of judged competition classes.
NOW AVAILABLE – ON LINE ENTRIES. The Whiteside County Fair now accepts Visa and MasterCard for entries and ticket purchases. You can make
your entries online by following the premiums link at www.whitesidecountyfair.org and use your Visa or MasterCard for payment. All the information

THE 138th ANNUAL WHITESIDE COUNTY FAIR, WHICH STARTS TUESDAY, AUGUST 12th, AND RUNS THROUGH SATURDAY, AUGUST 16th, WILL
HONOR THE BELT & ISENHART FAMILY.
MORRISON – The Whiteside County Fair Board is proud to announce the Belt and Isenhart Family as the “2008 Friend of the Fair” honoree. Since
1989, the board has sought to honor those who have made an extra effort to support and make the annual Fair as much fun as possible for all those
who participate and attend the many shows and events. This year, the board offers its sincere gratitude and appreciation for the many years of
friendship, and for everything they have done for the Whiteside County Fair.
The Grandstand entertainment starts with the demolition derby on Tuesday, August 12th at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 13th the Draft Horse Halter
Judging starts at Noon, and Next-Level Pro-Bullriding Productions will entertain the crowd as the featured entertainment at 7:00 p.m. Thursday,
August 14th at 8:00 a.m. the (preliminary) Draft Horse Hitches will be judged, and at 5:00 p.m. the Twilight Harness Races will begin. After the races
you will get to see the final of the Draft Horse Hitches & Western Speed Events. Five classes of souped-up tractors and trucks will take over the
grandstand on Friday, August 15th at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, August 16th at 6:30 p.m. the second demolition derby will finish off the fair’s five-day
evening grandstand events.
For those with a sweet tooth, chances will be sold at a nominal cost to test entrants’ luck at winning a tasty treat in the “cake walks” and “pie parades”
held Tuesday through Friday at 4:00 p.m. at the culinary department in the large exhibition hall north of the secretary’s office.
Harness racing takes over the racetrack Thursday at 5:00 p.m. with track records up for grabs. Friday and Saturday the action starts each day at 1:00
p.m. Children’s pedal pulls are scheduled on Tuesday and Saturday at 12:00 noon, with six divisions for youngsters ages 4 through 12. Grandpa
Cratchet will once again be joining us at the fair to entertain the kids, and there will be two bicycles given away each day with one at 2:00 and the
other at 6:00.

The ever popular bingo under the tent will not be returning this year. Many attempts were made to find a replacement but no arrangements could be
reached.
Correction from last weeks release, the Mississippi Valley Gymnastics and Cheerleading Team will perform on Wednesday August 13th at 5:30 p.m.
on the fair grounds east of the brown building not on Tuesday.
