as many classes will not be repeated.
General regulations apply to both shows.
Exhibitors are limited to two entries per premium number. However, each entry must be listed on entry
form.

exhibitor with the most blue ribbons on entries shown in Department L.
Award
Sponsors:
Behrens Flower Shed of Rock Falls, will give an award to the
premier exhibitor and the James Voss Family will give an award to the runner up, in memory of Evelyn Voss, a long
time exhibitor. The award will be based
on a point basis – 5 for 1st place, 3 for 2nd place, 1
for 3rd place plus an additional 1 for each entry made and
creditably shown in Dept. L.
No awards will be made on inferior exhibits
even though there is no competition.
Only AMATEUR growers of flowers will be
permitted to make entries. All must be
grown by exhibitor EXCEPT NOVELTY.
Do not use “Plant Shine” of any kind.
Judging: Potted plants will be judged in
accordance with size, shape, health and vigor, flowers (if any, quantity and
quality). Plants are to be owned and
cared for by the exhibitor for at least 3 months prior to the fair. Collections of SPECIMEN cut flowers will be
judged in accordance with the size of flowers, color, length
of stem, stiffness of foliage, quality and condition of flowers, number of
flowers on a stem and spacing of flowers.
Floral ARRANGEMENTS will be judged in accordance with the general
effect, proportion, suitability of plant materials, color coordination and
initiative of the exhibitor.
Please note the differentiation between
SPECIMEN-Division I Collection of Cut Flowers and Division II-Best Specimen and
Arrangement for all other classes. Vases
will be supplied for specimen flowers for uniformity. Door arrangements that received blue ribbons
last year must be changed in some way before entering again.
Best of Show Rosettes will be awarded in
Division I for Best Plant, Best Door, Best Niche, Best Arrangement, and Best
Table Setting and in Division II for Best Arrangement.

Section 1
Table Settings
Tables no larger than 40” x 46” permitted to
exhibit. Card tables are preferred.
Table settings that received blue ribbons
last year must be changed in some way before entering again. (Use same dishes, change color of cloth and
style of arrangement.) Cups and saucers
do not need to be used on tables.
Placemats may be used with tablecloth.
Judged on harmony of
setting, accessories, distinction, proportion, color harmony, and suitability
for occasion. Exhibitor
to furnish all necessary items to complete setting. No flatware to be used. No artificial flowers as centerpieces. Exhibitors are to use garden flowers from
their garden and to freshen flowers when
necessary. No greenhouse flowers permitted. No paper napkins or tablecloths unless
specified. All tables will be on exhibit
for entire fair week and will be in a secure area.

junior who wins the most blue ribbons – given by K & R Greenhouse, Morrison.
Also the Premier Exhibitor trophy will be
presented to the exhibitor with the most points figured as in Dept. L. The trophy will be awarded by Flowerland, Prophetstown.
