All entries must be in writing.

  Persons exhibiting must secure a Membership Ticket $15.00.  Please read through rules and regulations carefully.

  Only single entry in each category.

  Entries in this class close on the Friday before the fair at 4:00 PM.  Entries in sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 must be delivered by 4:00 PM Monday before the fair.  Baked goods entered in sections 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13 must be delivered by 4:00 PM Tuesday unless otherwise stated.  Please note day and time that pies and cakes are to be delivered.

   All bake goods not placed will be disposed of by the superintendent except for decorated cakes, cakes, & pies on Saturday before release time.

  Entries will be released at 4:00- 6:00 PM Saturday.  Building will close 6:00 PM Saturday.  Articles entered in displays are not eligible to single classes or vice versa.  No commercially prepared mixes.  Cookie displays will be 3 pieces on a small disposable plate.  Candy displays will be 6 pieces on a small disposable plate.  Bread and rolls should be covered with clear plastic or plastic bags and displayed on a disposable plate.  Please do not use staples to hold wrap on any item!  A small loaf of bread is acceptable.  All decorations on cakes must be edible, except where stated.

   Jams and jellies must be in any size standard jelly glasses.  Jams and jellies sealed with paraffin will not be accepted.

   No commercial (boxed) prepared mixes, unless noted.

   All canned products must be processed either by the water-bath method or pressure canned.

  All entries should be dated and labeled according to the contents or will be disqualified.

  A slice of each cake will be kept on display during the fair.  The remaining cake will be entered in a “cake/pie walk” later in the day.

 

Award Sponsors:

 Blackhawk Lbr., Morrison, IL will give an award to the premiere exhibitor in canned fruits, vegetables, jellies, and jams (classes 3000-3094).

 Community State Bank, Morrison, IL will sponsor an award for the Grandma’s Goodies Basket (class 3250).

 Buck’s Barn, Thomson, IL  will sponsor an award to the premiere exhibitor of baked products (classes 3100-3255).

 Happy Joe’s of Morrison will give an award to the premiere exhibitor in the junior culinary department.

 Nelson’s Electric of Morrison will give an award for best Decorated Cake in Open Culinary.

 Red Star Yeast & Products, Milwaukee, WI will sponsor various prizes for the entries in the yeast related classes.

 HyVee, Clinton, IA will sponsor a gift certificate for Judge’s Choice for best jam, jelly or preserve from sections 4 & 5.

Entries are open to all boys and girls who are between 8 and 18 years of age as of  September 1, 2009.  Persons exhibiting must first secure a Membership Ticket for $15.00.  Exhibitors under 11 years of age and under may enter by purchasing a Children’s Weekly pass for $3.00. Same rules apply as in Open Show.
